Sky Watch Friday

Here is my view of the sky Friday. I was in the football stands watching our team scrimmage. We had some light rain, but the great sunset made up for it.

Camera Critter- Baby Bird

This baby Mockingbird was found in the water where I work. I guess he was knocked out of his nest by the wind during yesterday's rain.

I don't think he was very happy to down here with us.

He was put in the box to dry and to be later taken to the local vet/humane society to be taken care of.

The Mockingbird is Texas's state bird. We have a lot of them near my home. Don't forget to check out other critters at Camera Critters.

Cool Shoes for School

Here are the shoes my son chose for every day shoes for school.
I spent a busy weekend school shopping Saturday & Sunday with my kids.

Here in Texas it was tax-free weekend.

My real incentive was the 20% off coupon that I could use on everything I bought . Yea!

They are called DC shoes. My daughter and I call them the "play dough" shoes.

In case you are curious...they are a size 13 and (according to my son) very comfortable to wear.

Sky Watch Friday

I was walking the dog and enjoying the early morning, when the sun starting peeking up over the horizon. The sky looked golden as the sun moved higher in the sky to give us another hot Texas day.

Power Rangers

We call these three guys the "Power Rangers" at work. Joe, Richard and Steve are brothers who decided to do what they could do to save money on gas. They all went out and bought these motorcycles within a couple of weeks of each other.
I think we need a blue, pink and white one~ am I forgetting a color?

Camera Critters #4

Here is a recent picture of Zeus, as you can see he defiantly has some personality. Now, if I can only keep him out of the flowers!
Check out other critters using my camera critter link.

Crepe Myrtle

Check out this cool tree I saw at the post office today when I was dropping off the mail.
It has two different colored blooms. This may be common, but I've never seen it. Right now the Crepe Myrtles are blooming like crazy with the little bit of rain that we've gotten.

He is 6 weeks old here. Later, I'll post a more recent one of him. I forgot how much work a puppy is.

Sky Watch Friday

I took these last night as the sun was setting. I saw a sign the other day that said something like when times get tough look up. It seems I can see hope in the sky... A sky like this reminds me that God can do anything. Miracles are possible.

Mark

This shot was taken by Mark's mom, Angie last year in the spring. Pictured with him are his sisters Madison, Macy and Maryanna.

Sunday, August 10th, Mark died today at 10:12 am. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for Mark and his family.

Prayer Vigil at Mark's Church

Last night at prayer vigil was held for Mark. There was praying. moments of silence and singing.
Please continue to lift Mark and his family up in your prayers.

Little Mark Needs Your Prayers

The Zurovec family urgently needs your prayers. Their little boy Mark, who is 2, was found by his mom and dad in the water at Canyon Lake. He is currently on a respirator and the family is waiting and praying for his full recovery.
He was air lifted to University Hospital in San Antonio. The family is asking that Mark 11:22-24 is claimed for Mark in your prayers. We know God hears and answers prayers.

Camera Critter #2

I saw this little one today at my neighbor's house. He seemed more interested in why I was taking his picture than running away :)

Camera Critters

I am going to start my Camera Critters with this critter....our dog Joey. He rules the roost.
He was a stray puppy that someone dropped off on the side of the road. We've had him for 3 yrs now. He is an inside dog, but he loves being outside as long as it isn't raining.
Please check out some cool camera critters at http://camera-critters.blogspot.com

Bar BQ Coming to Marion

A Bar BQ Resturant will soon be opening in Marion. This is an old building on the main road through town. I've always liked the look of it.
At one time it was a pizza place and then a taco place. I think Bar BQ is going to stick.
They have been working hard cleaning and remodeling the inside.
I can't wait to try some good Texas Bar BQ! I'll post more once the resturant opens.

Wedding

I went to a very special wedding on Saturday. My uncle Mike married a sweet lady. Her name is Niesha. They both were widowed and met later and now they bring our two families together.
The wedding was in this pretty church in San Antonio. They had an organ right under the stain glass window. It was gorgeous.

Skywatch Friday

Happy Friday! I feel like God is peeking though the clouds.
I actually took this shot last week as the last of hurricane Dolly was blowing though. We got some rain, but most of the rain was south of us. The rain was welcome here as we really were in need. I haven't heard too much about damage in the Rio Grande Valley or Mexico, I hope the damage hasn't been too much for people to recover from.

Yellow

Today is a good day :0) I missed a couple of days due to my husband's stepmom, Ruth broke her hip. She has COPD, so that really made more complicated. She got through surgery and today the ventilator was removed. What a blessing! She still has to get released from the hospital to rehab, but one hurdle at a time.

As for the photo, I love the yellow flowers and the blue vase. So pretty. Everyone have a great weekend.
